things i like to do:
hiiiiiii i'm selkie! i made this website from the ground up, hence why it's janky! everything is kind of in a state of being under construction because i do this in between everything else i like to do. which means not very much time at all!
anyways more about me. i'm from milwaukee. and i have great adoration for the great lakes region. i'm on the internet far too much, and always have been since i had a computer. but the coding part is a new thing! i'm going to try to keep things simple so i can handle it. but i also wanted a place where i could put all the stuff i was working on for myself and for other people to look at. because i tend to forget "oh i did this! wow... i did this!!" super easily hahah.
my day job is in the field accessibility and document design. it's something i am genuinely passionate about because i believe everyone should be able to experience the same basic happiness and good of this world both online and off-line. but it's pretty common to exclude people, whether intentionally or not. so i'm trying my best to include people through my work. i am still learning of course, but i do know how to design documents and make them accessible for screenreaders. but i also think a lot about how to make physical spaces and events accessible, and that includes the actual spaces plus things people can do (like masking!).
in my free time, i do a lot of art. my main deal is digital illustration in Clip Studio Paint or Procreate depending on where i am. i've been getting a lot into traditional art again with those cheapo blue bic pens and pencils. i do linocut prints sometimes and i enjoy the process a ton. i also make zines. basically, i juggle so many projects at the moment that it's a genuine event when i finally finish something.
