it's been really cold here lately. like frostbitingly cold. i haven't really gone out in a while, but that's the nature of winter, honestly. looking forward to an upcoming toy drive slash punk show next week, however.
also i've been going on and on about like, my john dwyer vortex but i'm pleased to report that it's kind of slackened its grip on me in the last week. which is like, yay, i can listen to other music. however, other music means i'm really just listening to a lot of lightning bolt because good things come in threes. can't wait to see what thing number 3 will be at this point. i really do miss seeing lightning bolt and they're such fun noise rock, honestly. but since i finally tossed them a few coins on their subscription, i'm utterly delighted with the music they've put out on that.
adding one more thing to look forward to for next year, i think.

i saw a thing on twitter that was like. im afraid of not liking my interests anymore. which is like painfully real as i claw my way out of this horrid oh sees vortex. i have finally started to listen to.... other music that is not this band.
being able to listen to other music is great because i'm like a week into what i like to call damiáncember, which is where we listen to a new entry in the discography of life, sadness, and like anything else that damián anton ojeda makes. and there's a lot! i'm enjoying this month-long dive, honestly, since i've always meant to get into trhä at some point. i think a lot of the stuff we've listened to have been sickeningly cool, which is like. having me be existential because what WAS i doing in high school? i should be making cool art!!
which i am! i am very thankful to be making art now despite everything.
and of course since it's december, it's time for me to start thinking about... those dreaded AOTYs of 2025. surely they have made less albums since i last looked a week ago. (this is a lie. there is so much more.
in the non-music side of my life, i am considering a second fursona. which will NOT replace my current fursona but i feel like i could have a second one. perhaps even a third one. it's probably still going to be a seal bc i love how seals look (fan of kroshik and shlisik over here!!)

these blog posts are unfortunately serving as documentation of how deep into this hellhole i am with thee oh sees. i have to give it to them though, this music is GREAT for when i actually need to focus and do like, slightly tedious stuff. it's also 5x5 friday and as to be expected, it's pretty much just.... this band. and also like one playthru of emotional mugger by ty segall.
sure hope there's an end to this in sight. i want to go back to grinding on my 2025 albums backlog!!

yeah im on a roll! i have so much artwork! holy cow! anyways i decided i was no longer going to be cringe and embarrassing so now you all can see my good omens fanart and character art. what was i doing in 2020. incredible work, honestly, and i mean that earnestly.
we still got a lot of artwork left to go. this is making me feel like sisyphus every single night after work. at least i have the luxury of all of music humanity's made so far and no bothersome vultures to peck my innards out.

oh sees obsession continues. this is like week 4 or something now. still kind of close to tears every time i think about how this band is willing to dig back in and play the really really old stuff. like the kind of old stuff that they made when they were really young, you know? and that's like a revisitation 20 years later. i hope i can do that -- just looking back on all the stuff i've done now but like in my 50s. maybe this site will survive until then.
also i've been somewhat busy since the last blog! i went to a punk fest and finally managed to snag a copy of vol 5 of the ignorant people fanzine and am very excited to finally crack it open this weekend. i also got a cool eel print from naudiir and will be hanging it up soon. I love eels :) annnnd got to celebrate one of my cool friends getting married too, oh my gosh!!

god help me i am experiencing severe oh sees disease right now. this is like day 12, disease occurrence #2 by the way. i thought including this sort of mind status update would help. maybe it's not that helpful, who knows. im not the judge of this!! plus considering i barely post on social media in a public way, you can hear a fraction of my thoughts out loud now!
anyways i am trying to update this thing. fixed up some font sizing and line height while i'm here. currently working on image descriptions for every piece in the 2023 Art page here before I move onto the horrifying task of uploading my 2024 artwork. it is currently FY2025, Q4 so we shall hope this gets done before the year's end, yes?
